Bamboo Scarf

Monica: I’m spending the long weekend in Vegas and apparently so are thousands of University of Wisconsin fans. My plane was full of people wearing red gearing up for the game against University of Nevada-Las Vegas. They played last night and Wisconsin won by 20 points. (The spread was 21 so Wisconsin did not cover. Sorry all of you who lost money on that bet. That concludes the Vegas talk portion of this post.)

Knitting by the pool

I’ve lived in my subdivision for almost 3 years and that was the first time I’ve used the pool. Probably because I don’t know how to swim. But it’s still nice to splash around in the pool and I tried to do my own version of water aerobics. While we were waiting for our suits to dry I pulled out my knitting so I could finish this scarf.

Pattern: Easy Bamboo Lace Scarf by Michelle Miller
Yarn: Teresa Ruch Designs Bamboo

This was another sample for Teresa Ruch Designs. The pattern really is easy to knit and remember. Michelle has a bundle of lace patterns for sale here. It’s a great way to buy all the patterns for a good price.

Bamboo scarf

Above is a close-up of the lace pattern. I really like the colors of this yarn and this is a great scarf to wear during spring/fall. It was good to knit with bamboo since it’s still in the hundreds here.

He's not sure he's an iowa fan

I always put bandanas on Buddy for special occasions and yesterday was the first University of Iowa football game of the season. Charlie attended the University of Iowa and Buddy goes along with it even though he couldn’t care less. Both of us snoozed while the game was on. We enjoy napping to all the football games.

I hope you’re having a nice weekend!
