Happy Leap Year Day?
Lynette:

It’s weird but I don’t remember the last Leap Year? If you know me, it’s not that weird. I wasn’t a knitter then. But I’m sure I was thinking the same thing then as a I am now. How’d this day come about? Well, here’s a brief definition of the Leap Year.
1. (in the Gregorian calendar) a year that contains 366 days, with February 29 as an additional day: occurring in years whose last two digits are evenly divisible by four, except for centenary years not divisible by 400.
Funny, I already knew this in my very crowded brain. After looking further, I found a slew of information out on the internet about this very day. For instance, I found the Leap Year Museum. In the museum, there’s a book for sale called Leap Day. It’s about a girl who turns 16 on her 4th birthday. There’s also poetry dedicated to this day. Lastly, there’s a Worldwide Leap Year Festival being held. People take this day very seriously. So quit your smirking
I think it’s cute.
The other thought that came to mind is that I don’t know anyone whose birthday falls on this day? Well, whoever you are, “Happy Birthday, and how old are you, really.”
Back to reality and sewing in my zipper. My other task is that I made progress on my mom’s throw. Yes, I knitted three rows of 173-stitches.
Oh, how can I forget? If you haven’t done so already, take a look at Kerrie’s debut of Magknits! I added a button as a permanent fixture to the place.
