Anyone, Anyone?
Monica: A few years ago I won a contest on knitting.about.com and received a kit for this:

Here’s what the yarn looks like:
There are 12 balls of 12 different colors. I have not knit this kit because:
1) It’s a fair isle project. I’ve done them before but not very many.
2) It involves steeking which I’m not ready to try yet.
3) The sweater is not really a style I would wear.
4) I’m not too fond of the colors combined together for the sweater.
I don’t want this kit to go to waste so I have been storing this in my stash for a while now. The yarn is good stuff–it’s K1C2 Parfait Solids which is worsted weight wool and 218 yards each. I like some of the colors on their own or even combined with others but really I’m not sure I want to knit this sweater. So, every once in a while when I open my closet I’m confronted with this kit. It just stares at me and dares me to do something with it. I’m thinking of a few options:
1) A felted project of some kind. Although I, my family and my friends have enough felted bags to last several lifetimes.
2) A different sweater. This would involve some work on my part to figure out colors because I’m color-challenged and my Color Consultant abandoned me last fall and moved to Vermont.
What would you do with this kit?
I finally finished the emergency baby sweater yesterday and gave it to the father before I could take a picture of it. I’ll have to post a picture of the baby wearing the sweater. So now I’m back to knitting the 2nd sleeve of the 2×2x3×1 Ribby. I’m using Lion Brand Cotton Ease in the lovely color of black so I won’t be posting any photos of this puppy in progress. Too boring.
Hope you all have a good weekend! Especially those at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival–I’m so jealous!
