Souvenirs, YAY!!
Monica: Wonderful Heidi brought some goodies back for Lynette and me from Italy and Greece. On the left is a sea sponge, some delicious smelling lemon soap, yummy Kinderegg and Baci candy. Both of us got 2 Bacis each and we promptly ate them right away. Heidi also bought some beads and made stitch markers for us. I got the fish and Lynette got the evil eye. She also sent us some pretty postcards, which I love receiving. Thank you so much for thinking of us while you were on your honeymoon!
Today was our weekly knitting day at work and I started working on the front of my Filati sweater. Since I started the color work on it I can’t work on it any more as my commuter project or as my sitting-at-my-desk-while-thinking-and-knitting-break project. I take a lot of those throughout the day. I also finished the back of the Serape Jacket and tried out the short rows shoulder shaping. I don’t think this is a good project for a multi-colored project. I think it’s easier to do this using a solid color–for me at least.
One of the knitters in our group (Hi Meg!) is knitting the Latifa scarf from Knitty. I love how it looks and the Koigu she picked out for the ruffles is very pretty.
So, today was the day that the Secret Sock Swap ended. I sent mine off a few weeks ago and I hope the person I knitted them for received them because I haven’t heard back from her. It doesn’t help that the person who organized the swap is no longer blogging. She started out blogging and then she stopped but then on the same day she said she was going to stop she started a new blog. But now it’s gone and I don’t know what happened. I hope she’s ok.
Oh and THANK YOU to everyone who’s helped Lynette and I relieve us of some books and yarn. We appreciate it.
