Saturday Fun
Yesterday was fun. Carolyn and I joined Monica’s Thursday night group at Knitche in Downers Grove. We knitted a bit, shopped a bit, sipped coffee and ate a bit. My eyes didn’t glaze over at every skein or ball of yarn I saw. I did buy two balls of Plymouth Encore to make a pair of Armchair Socks
from Weekend Knitting.
Next, we ventured next door to Bead Heaven. I made a 3-Stranded necklace
for myself but had closure problems. So I took my necklace in to have it finished. I learned a few things there. I’d used tigertail that was too thick. I should have used a thinner wire for it. So, I bought a thinner gauge wire and decided to re-do it.
I left Monica and Carolyn to get home for my mom’s birthday celebration. However, I made a little detour. I stopped at Michaels in Chicago Ridge. Why? I don’t know. Anyway, I found this new yarn, Moda Dea Cache in Siren and thought it would be cute to make something out of it. I also bought one skein of Lion Brand Moonlight Mohair in Safari to make a bias scarf as a birthday gift for my neighbor. Her birthday is the same day as my mom’s.
Happy birthday, mom!
