Beach Day!
Monica: On Wednesday I played hooky from work and we went to the Santa Monica beach. We ate lunch at a great restaurant right on the beach then we grabbed our gear from the car and staked out the perfect spot. Besides the usual beach gear consisting of umbrella, chairs, towels, etc. we also brought a kite.
After we put the kite together we noticed that we were near a fenced-off area that was reserved for:
The bottom of this sign had rules:

Oops! We picked up our stuff and moved far away from the area. It turns out that the Plowy Snovers had nothing to worry about because we suck at kite flying.
We could never get it off the ground. We tried several times but finally gave up and enjoyed the near empty beach.
I worked on my Beach Scarf.
I’m calling it that because the colors remind me of the sky, water, sand and sun. It’s Domesticraft’s chevron scarf pattern and I plan on giving it away as a Christmas present but the more I work on it the more I want to keep it.
Our drive home was not fun.
This was the traffic at 10 pm on Wednesday night on the 91. Usually we avoid the 91 during the day but since it was not rush hour we thought traffic wouldn’t be so bad. I think there was more traffic on it than during the day. Even the express lanes were backed up. There’s nothing quite like southern California traffic.
