I’m Not Sure About This FO

Monica: It’s hard for me to post this FO after Lynette posted such an awesome sweater but here goes:

tweedybelly

Pattern: Tweedy Vest (free pattern!)
Yarn: Noro Silk Garden and Karabella Aurora 8

Monica: If you want something to accentuate your tummy I’ve got the pattern for you. I’ve sucked in everything I possibly could and contorted every which way I could to hide my belly and this is the best I could do. When I wear this I will have to walk sideways because that’s all I zero in on when I look at myself wearing it. I think I will bury this vest into a deep deep drawer. It’s good that I won’t want to wear it until next fall as our temps have been in the low 80s recently. (And maybe miraculously I will lose a bunch of weight before I wear this next time! I crack myself up!)
collar

That’s a close-up of the short rows on the collar. I thought that was a totally neat way to knit the collar. You can’t even see the ribbed pattern in this Noro yarn but I went ahead with it anyway. I ran out of yarn for the collar and armhole bands but found a skein of Aurora 8 in the stash. Which I spent all weekend patting myself on the back for doing because I didn’t need to buy any more yarn. (I think I need a life.)

Edited: I forgot to mention that I added waist shaping to this vest thinking that it would be more flattering. Maybe it’s just too long on me. I don’t know but something’s not right.
