Definite Proof

Lynette: Sorry for the long break.   I didn’t mean to stay away so long.  I’ve had a lot to keep me busy the last month or so.   If it’s any consolation, I’ve been taking pictures to upload but end up posting in my head.  Do you all do that?   I know excuses, excuses.  Here’s the short version of what’s made me so busy.

  • I’ve been laid off from my job
  • One of my closest friends died suddenly
  • I have a few medical issues to sort out

Needless to say, both of these incidents threw me for a loop and it took me a while to recover.   Thankfully, I have a wonderful supportive family and great friends that have encouraged me and checked on my well-being.    On the surface, you’d think these things would throw me into a spiral of depression.  However, I believe it’s done just the opposite.  I’ve become one of the strongest people I know besides my mom.  Weird to say, eh?   I won’t harp too much on this but suffice it to say that I’m taking a well-deserved break and I know my future will be awesome.

Now in knitting news, I met with Monica, Meg and Rebecca on Thursday for lunch and knitting and it was so much fun to see everyone.  The one constant in my life is my knitting, and I’m truly grateful for that.  I’d be a completely different person without it.  Trust me. :)

I finished these pairs of socks over a month ago and really enjoyed knitting them.  Now that it’s warmer I have to wait to wear them.  I have worn them with my clear converse a few times though.   I loved using the Regia self-striping yarn.  I always try to keep the pattern simple when using the striping yarn.  The second pair was doubly easy because I used worsted weight yarn and a very simple pattern.  It’s been in my queue way before Ravelry.  The last pair is a gift for Nancy.

I have more knitting to share with you, and I promise not to be away so long next time.  I’m off now to spend the afternoon with Monica and Gail.
