Pattern: Paton’s Peaked Cap (without the brim) 
Yarn: Cascade 220 Heathers in Pumpkin Spice.
Needles: Knit Picks Size 5 and 7s

Lynette: I absolutely LOVE the fall season, and this year unusually spectacular.  I think the fall colors helped me pick out my new coat.   Originally when I went to look for yarn for the un-newsboy hat, I thought I would buy Tahki Donegal Tweed in orange.  However, it was too bright for me and not the right color for the coat.  I went to one of my LYS’s (Nana’s Knitting Shop) and Cory helped me find the perfect color.   I’m really pleased with the outcome.   I had a few mods to the hat pattern.  I made increases to the hat to 200 stitches instead of the 160.  Also I omitted the brim.

Yarn: Knit Picks Swish DK in Tidepool Heather
Needle: Knit Picks Size 3

Ok, I wanted to accent the orangeness with the turquoise stripe in the coat.   Now here’s a funny story behind buying the color of  Tidepool Heather yarn.  I’m working on  an argyle vest for my son, and I ordered this color because it looked light blue online.  Maybe I was a bit colorblind that day because I ended up buying all the KP Swish blue colorways.   Anyway, I already had this skein of yarn in my stash.  There were no mods to this pattern, but I ran out of yarn so I chose the Cascade 220 yarn to bind off.  Nice contrast I think.

Next up for fall?  A few more hats.  But, I also have a 2nd skein of Cascade yarn that I’m using to make a pair of gloves.
