Nov 30, 2012: Cabley Cowl

Pattern: Cream and Sugar Cowl by Alana Dakos
Yarn: Pagewood Farm Alyeska in Denim
I made this cowl for a friend of mine in Vegas who has been kindly giving me lots and lots of fabric and won’t take anything for it. It’s knit with fingering weight yarn so it’s lightweight but will be perfect on days when there is a slight chill in the air. Here in Vegas she will probably use it in January. I’m not sure if you can tell but the cowl is wider at the bottom than the top so it will fit over your shoulders.
This is a good pattern for all of that sock yarn I have in my stash. After I was done I didn’t want to part with it because I really liked it. But I have LOTS of sock yarn so I can pretty much make another one or 30 of these if I want. The cowl grew after washing which makes it drape nicely. I used up almost the entire 360 yard skein of yarn which I like because I don’t like knitting something that only uses half of a skein. It’s an odd pet peeve of mine.
Here is Buddy refusing to wear the cowl. He ran away from me when I approached him with the cowl and camera.
Today is the last day of NaBloPoMo and although I’ve enjoyed trying to come up with posts I will definitely enjoy a short break from posting. Maybe Lynette will fill in! Ha!

The cowl is beautiful! I will miss the daily posts, but look forward to both of your future postings.

Love it! You can’t have too many cowls.
