A Little Reading
Monica: Temecula’s library doesn’t have a lot of books but is part of the Riverside County Library System. I recently discovered their website and how easy it is to reserve books from other libraries in the system. What I haven’t discovered yet is how I can space out the reservations so that I don’t have that stack of books to finish in two weeks. Sure I can renew them but then I wouldn’t have the fun of trying to finish every book before I have to return them. I always enjoy reading the first sentence of each paragraph and moving onto the next paragraph. That’s why reading is so relaxing, isn’t it?
I’m very very close to finishing my niece’s sweater. In the interests of time I decided that 3/4 length sleeves would be perfect. I was trying to figure out what color I could use for the neck and bottom bands but decided to go with different colors. Mostly because I ran out of turquoise after I finished the bottom band. The sleeves are edged with orange and I plan on using pink for the front and neck bands. Then after blocking I might actually be able to send this in time for her birthday!
Gail and I often talk about how we are the only knit bloggers who don’t have book deals. It’s not that we’re jealous or anything. I know why I’m not hearing from any editors–I can’t write and I’m not that creative. I don’t know why Gail doesn’t have a book deal. She’s funny and creative. Check out this week’s podcast from Cast-On.

You will LOVE Marley and Me. I bawled, laughed, snorted and shook my head through it. Lovely book!

I don’t have a book deal either, but I’m new… not that I expect one because unlike Gail, I’m not that funny. But I like reading your site, and you are funny

I don’t know why you didn’t like the stripe pattern. I think it’s adorable for a 7 year old. As for book deals, I keep reminding myself that if I got one, I’d have to actually work. I shudder at the thought.
