A Completed Urban Poncho

Voila!!! It is finished. Since my last post, I’ve been diligently trying to finish this poncho. Yesterday, I knew I was down to the last mile. I knit during a parents’ basketball tryouts meeting and then we were told to be back by 8p.m. for pickup. I drove “not so fast” to Panera to knit with my group for about an hour. After I got home, I decided to measure the poncho to see how far I needed to go. The poncho is supposed to be 54″ long, but when I measured, it was 59″. Oh, I guess I’m done. I didn’t rip it back because I thought it would look nice with my height. I seamed it during lunch today and had a co-worker-knitter snap a picture of me with my PDA.

Here’s a picture of my semi-blocked, unsewn poncho in natural sunlight. Although I didn’t alternate the yarns while knitting, I have grown the love the uniqueness of this project. The yarn is absolutely beautiful and made this project a joy to knit. I’ll wear it proudly on Saturday to the Briar Rose Open House.

Project Specs
Pattern: Urban Poncho/Shawl from Weekend Knitting

It looks great! The dyelot changes aren’t distracting at all now that it is sewn together. Enjoy wearing it.
