These Took Forever to Finish

white sox socks

Pattern: Stockinette Stitch with Eye of Partridge Heel
Yarn: Sunshine Yarns Soft Sock yarn in Blacksmith color

Monica: I’ve mentioned before how much longer it takes me to finish stockinette stitch socks and these were no exception as they took me 2 weeks to finish. They were knit with size 0 (2 mm) needles — 70 stitches each sock– which is not a big deal but the person I made them for has larger feet than mine. 2 inches longer than my feet so I thought I’d never finish them. After I finish a pair of socks using size 0 needles I like to knit the next pair using larger needles. So I’m searching for my next sock pattern now. In the meantime, I’m hoping that Lynette will finish her Juliet soon so I can go stash-diving to make mine.

Nice job…I like how they are trying to hide in the jade plant.

Hey…I vote for Whisper Lace Socks…you’ve got me crushing on them since you sent that link. Got Lorna’s?

The heel is a nice touch with the stockinette. Love the zebra effect!

Those are lovely, but I don’t know how you managed such big socks on such small needles in such a short period of time. I would have found all sorts of other things to do (and knit) rather than slogging away on those socks. Do you like this new Sunshine yarn better than the original yarn?

I’ve looked at that yarn so often – nice to see how it knits up. And the feet *do* look long. I like my own short ones. ;)
