Monica: Lynette’s at a training class all week so I have missed chatting online with her. Our daily chats consist of work interspersed with knitting. Oh yeah, usually there’s more chatting about knitting than work.

After not buying yarn since August I caved yesterday and ordered some yarn to make this Flower Shawl. The pattern calls for DK weight yarn but I really don’t need anything that heavy so I went with laceweight yarn from Knit Picks. I’m going to double up the Shadow yarn so it will be slightly heavier. I waffled most of yesterday between ordering that yarn or this or this. In the end, my cheeeepness frugality won out because 6 skeins of the Knit Picks yarn only cost $18 including shipping.

Rhinebeck takes place this weekend so I will spend all next week reading posts about it and coveting everyone’s purchases. Some day I will go there. Maybe I will start with something a little closer to home. I’d love to go to the Taos Wool Festival or the Estes Park Wool Market.

I have seen lots of great versions of this sweater in Blogland and was thinking of knitting it out of the Rowan Plaid that I have in my stash. I haven’t seen anyone knit the sweater out of multi-color yarn though so I’m not sure how it will look. The other thing that I was thinking about with that yarn was knit something like this sweater from the Kim Hargreaves Collection. But that involves me not being lazy about coming up with the pattern so I’m not sure when/if that’s ever going to happen.

I am staring at a piece of German chocolate brownie and it’s staring back at me. Daring me to eat it. So far the standoff has lasted 1 hour. I figure I’ll cave in about 2 hours.

The books I had put on hold at the library arrived at the same time so now I’m trying to read them all and fit in my very-important television watching. I can only check-out books for a 2-week period at my library but I can renew if no one else wants the books. So hopefully no one else will want the books until I’m done with them.

I am very very close to finishing the edging on the PoTW stole which means that I’m already thinking about my next project. Instead of starting a new project I really need to concentrate on my WIPs. I have part of the back done on Electra so I will concentrate on finishing that before I start anything else. Unless my Knit Picks yarn arrives — then all bets are off.

I’m in the same boat, Rhinebeckwise. If you ever go, you must tell me the moment that you decide to do it, because I will be there that year. Hell, I will even pick you up at the airport, as Rhinebeck is close enough for me to drive.

I’m with you on with Rhinebeck envy. I have an annual conflict, so I won’t likely get there for a while. I’d love to go to Taos, too!
